I Just Let Go

How many of you out there are doing a job you do not like? But you do it anyway because you need to make money for your family and pay for your bills and daily expenses. It's a harrowing ordeal, having to do something you don;t find meaning in.

Sometimes, I don't feel like doing my job as web content writer for other people because I'd rather spend all day working on my own blogs. It's joy unspeakable when I work on my blogs and write articles for them, especially when I write about God and his plans, or wellness and life.

But I have to think about our expenses and the bills.

But I also love to just forget about other people's blogs and focus on my own blogs.

Then I just drop everything, stop, wipe off my face with my bear hands, breathe deeply and "hug" the Lord in spirit. I just say, "Oh Lord!"

I just let go.

And then money would come unexpectedly.

But it doesn't work like that everyday. Most days I have to face my work. It's just that sometimes, the Lord gives me a break and lets me just enjoy my time. That's the sixth hour.

But I pray and hope that one day soon, I won't have to do articles for other people and just focus on my own blogs and get more than enough money doing it. That's a coming sixth hour.

Simple Everyday Miraculous Healing

Medical science is good, but lots of folks can't afford them. Sometimes, we can't. But it's actually a blessing in disguise. It makes me have stronger faith and more prayerful. I rely heavily on God's protection on my family against ailments and miraculous healing when someone is already sick.

My son used to easily contract fever when he has cold and flu. So did my grandson. But God renewed my faith in signs and wonders (or probably stepped it up one level higher) so that when they're about to get sick---or are a bit sick already---I just utter a prayer and declaration and the ailment goes away.

My wife felt something wrong with her heart a few months ago and initial tests showed she might have a blockage in her arteries. A treadmill test gave an even scarier result. So the doctor recommended a stress-echo test.

We prayed fervently for healing for days.

When the final moment came, the test showed everything was normal. The doctor gave my wife a clean bill of health. All by God's grace and mercy. Praise God!

God's Angel Acts on Our Behalf

It was about midnight, our eldest son was just a baby. He was uneasy, crying and rolling between me and my wife in bed. We didn't know what he wanted---we tried milk but it didn't work.

Both I and my wife were exhausted from work and looking after our baby the whole day. We couldn't get up to carry our baby to put him to sleep.

So, what did I do?

I tried to ask the Lord's angel to assist us. After all, they are "ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?" [Hebrews 1.14].

"Angel of the Lord, put him (the baby) to sleep!" I said.

Immediately, our baby lay there still and asleep! And I mean immediately! Imagine from being uneasy and rolling here and there, to suddenly being still and deep in sleep! And he remained like that till morning, so we were able to get the right amount of sleep.

We marveled and praised God.

But, was that just a coincidence?

Another night, our baby was again uneasy, rolling here and there in bed. My wife told me to try it again. So I did. The same thing happened. Immediately after I called out and asked the Lord's angel in Jesus' Name, our baby kept still and went to sleep.

Two times. I don't think that was just luck.

Struck By a Blot of Guilt and Conscience

I was really mad! I was really angry! I wanted to hurt someone to somehow share the hurt I felt inside. Have you ever felt that way?

Sometimes, no matter how nice you are in person, some people's attitude really gets into you and you get so negatively affected. I guess that's how Saul must have felt when he heard how the Ammonites threatened the men of Jabesh Gilead [1 Sam. 11.1].
When Saul heard their words, the Spirit of God came powerfully upon him, and he burned with anger.
I, too, sometimes burn with anger that I want to cut something into pieces as a warning of what I could do.
He took a pair of oxen, cut them into pieces, and sent the pieces by messengers throughout Israel, proclaiming, "This is what will be done to the oxen of anyone who does not follow Saul and Samuel." Then the terror of the LORD fell on the people, and they came out together as one.
But then, each time I'm about to do something drastic and stupid (something I'd surely regret for the rest of my life), I feel a sudden rush of guilt down my body and seem to hear words of sound counsel behind my ears.

There is that spur-of-the-moment realization that I shouldn't do anything stupid and sound judgment overwhelms me. Then I quickly repent and change course and manner. All that in a split-second. Only the Holy Spirit can do that.

It\s meeting Christ at the well on the sixth hour.

To be sure, I'm not a violent person. I'm known for my maturity, patience and politeness. I'm often a meek guy who would prefer to keep quiet than defend myself even if I'm right. But I guess all of us have limits---and these limits are designed to make abusive people learn some lessons from us. Even Christ went wild in the temple when it was desecrated by money changers.

Long Travel Cut-Short by God

I don't know how it happened. I was about to be late, and I mean really late for an appointment with the Department of Health (DOH) in Mandaluyong. I was supposed to be there before 9 am---but it was already 8.00 am when I left from Munoz Market in Quezon City.

So, under ordinary circumstances, I should've been late. Travel that far in the morning when it's rush hour under heavy traffic is often the pits.

But I kept praying to the Lord. And then I relaxed and slept.

When I got off at Star Mall, I was in a hurry. But then I felt nature's call so I had to look for a restroom that was open that early. Malls usually opened at 10 am. Fortunately, the one in McDonald's was open but there was a line. I had to wait for my turn.

Then I saw a wall clock. I got nervous about knowing what time it already was, but I looked anyway. My guess was that, it was already 9:15 or so.

To my shock, I saw it was only 8:45 am! A 45-minute travel from Munoz to Star Mall in the morning rush? Impossible. At least it often took 2 hours. But there it was!

I had 15 minutes more to relieve myself, take a jeep, take a tricycle from Acacia Lane and walk to the office of the DOH architect.

I reached DOH at 8:50 am. I was even 10 minutes early! Praise God!
